Porsche 356
About the Porsche 356
The first car to bear the Porsche name. Ferdinand Ferry Porsche built it in a sawmill in Gmund, Austria. Used many Volkswagen Beetle components initially. Over 76,000 produced across four decades. The Speedster variant became a Hollywood icon. James Dean died in a 356 Speedster on September 30, 1955. Every Porsche traces its lineage here.
